Employee Recruitment Methods

 


Introduction

Recruitment is the process of attracting individuals on a timely basis, in sufficient numbers and with appropriate qualifications, to apply for jobs with an organization.

Recruitment methods

1.       Internal recruiting is when a business or organization intends to fill a vacancy from within its existing workforce.

2.       External recruitment on the opposite hand is when an organization looks to fill vacancies from applicants outside of the organization.

In global context, Starbucks enlighten that the most important resource for the success of their company is their employees or workforce. Starbucks use four methods to recruit employees.

1.      Internal Recruiting: Recruiting right talented people externally is expensive or it add additional cost and challenge to the company. Therefore high priority is given toward internal recruitment.

2.   Direct applicant and referrals: There recruiting strategy is treating both employees and applicants in equal manner. Interns are accepted in direct applicant basis.

3.  Company Websites: They have a recruitment page on “Taleo Platform”. They used websites like Monster.comVault.com and Glassdoor.com.

4.      Retail store recruiting: Shift supervisors and Baristas are responsible in retail stores of Starbucks. They were recruited by holding job fairs, posting positions on company websites and creating ads and banners.

Recruitment methods of CBC PLC.

1.       Internal source

Recruitment from internal sources are usually done recruiting for a new projects, mid-level and top level positions. Advertisements are circulated through staff account mail also on bulletins boards of CBC PLC. They also recruit top position through evaluation of basis promotions.

2.       External source

They used external source for recruit entry level position and also certain technical expertise and experience which the employees in their talent pool do not have. Advertisement are posted on company web site, social media like LinkedIn, face book and national daily newspapers.

Conclusion

A good recruitment process can reduce the time involved in, searching, interviewing and recruiting the candidate, it also reduces organizational costs for training the candidate.
